K-ETA for South Korea

K-ETA is an electronic authorisation for entering South Korea, obtained before departure. It is required from travellers of most visa-free countries, Russia among them: without an approved K-ETA the airline will not let you board and the border service will not let you in.

About this visa

The authorisation is valid for three years (but no longer than your passport) and allows multiple entries — arrange it once and you can fly to Korea for years without reapplying.

Two important exceptions: K-ETA is not required for travellers aged 17 and under or 65 and over. And do not trust headlines saying “Korea has scrapped K-ETA”: the temporary exemption has indeed been extended, but it covers only 22 countries — Russia, for one, is not among them, so most travellers still need K-ETA.

The application is filed in advance, the answer does not come instantly, and a refusal means a cancelled trip. We check your data, complete the form and file it for you.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a visa for South Korea?

Yes. The South Korean visa is called K-ETA — an electronic travel authorisation arranged online before departure. Without it the airline will not let you board and the border service will not let you in. We arrange it for you.

How long is a K-ETA valid?

It is valid for 3 years from the date of issue (but no longer than your passport) and allows multiple entries.

Do children need a K-ETA?

No. Travellers aged 17 and under, and 65 and over, are exempt — a passport and the arrival card are enough.

Is it true that the K-ETA was scrapped?

The temporary K-ETA waiver runs to the end of 2026, but it covers only 22 countries. If your country is not on that list, K-ETA is still required — Russia, for one, is not on it.
