The arrival card is now compulsory at every airport in Vietnam

Since 22 June every foreign national fills in the electronic arrival card — those flying on a visa and those entering visa-free alike.

Vietnam started rolling out the electronic arrival card in the spring: Ho Chi Minh City first, then Phu Quoc, then the rest. From 22 June 2026 the rule covers every international airport in the country.

Everyone without a Vietnamese passport has to complete it, whether or not they need a visa. A traveller flying in visa-free for two weeks fills it in too.

What you need to do

  • Go to the government portal prearrival.immigration.gov.vn
  • Complete the form within the last 72 hours before arrival
  • Save the QR code and show it at passport control
The arrival card is not a visa and does not replace one. If the length of your trip means you need a visa, you still have to obtain it separately.

The portal charges nothing for it. If you would rather not deal with the form, we file the arrival card together with the visa or on its own.
